The Mae Tao Clinic is an internationally-renowned health service provider and training center, established to contribute to and promote accessible quality health care for displaced people along the Thai-Burma border. Operational since 1989, MTC has grown into a multi-service humanitarian site, linking with CBO partners to provide a comprehensive range of in-patient and out-patient health services, child protection, education, health worker training. MTC acts as the key training hub, working with many ethnic health and community based health organization and some international universities. MTC has also long standing relationship with the Thai Ministry of Public Health, specifically Mae Sot Hospital, especially in referrals.

Our Mission
MTC is a community-based organization (CBO) that provides and advocates for an equitable and essential health system, education and protection for vulnerable and displaced people living in the Thai-Burma border area and Eastern Burma. MTC addresses the needs and human rights of these people through comprehensive programs and a collaborative approach with local, national, international and government bodies.
